Fescue seed not such a tall order this year
Another fescue buying season has come and gone, and Eldon Rock Island Exchange owner Dick Neisen said this years volume was just about one-third of what came in during 2008.
District Recognized
The Lake Ozark Fire Protection District was recently recognized by the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce for its assistance with the Magic Dragon Street Meet Nationals, held on the Bagnell Dam Strip in May. DNR testing finds high E. coli levels in lake
The results of recent Missouri Department of Natural Resources testing on the Lake of the Ozarks found their to be elevated levels of E. coli bacteria.

Two men arrested on
drug and immigration charges
Two Osage Beach men were arrested on drug charges Thursday, June 25, after a joint investigation by the Lake Area Narcotics Group, the Camden County Sheriffs Office and the Osage Beach Department of Public Safety.

Lake Ozark Fire Protection District Captain Ryan Vaughn (right) relays back to his fellow firefighters, waiting in a nearby fire boat, alerting them that water was indeed flowing from the lake through the dry fire hydrant, located on the Bagnell Dam Strip in Lake Ozark. Vaughn and his associates were waiting for the water flow Tuesday, June 30, so they could attach a hose to their fire truck and proceed to douse the area in lake water. Eldon license bureau
to reopen July 6
The Eldon Drivers' License Bureau, under the management of the Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association, will reopen for business Monday, July 6, at its former location at 401 West Highway 52 in Eldon. The association is presently putting the final touches on remodeling at the office.

to be held Friday, July 3
The City of Eldon will host an Old Fashioned Independence Day celebration Friday, July 3.
EHS Class of '99 reunion set
The Eldon High School Class of 1999 will hold its 10-year reunion at 7 p.m., Saturday, July 18, at Buzzers in Eldon. Those attending are asked to RSVP, and the cost is $10 per person or $18 per couple in advance or $20 per couple at the door. This covers the cost of appetizers and soft drinks.
