Events offer July 4th bang this weekend
The July 4 weekend holds some entertainment bang as area events offer the public some Independence Day activities a little sparkle Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5.
Water shutoff July 13
The City of Versailles Water Department will shut off water and sewer service Monday, July 13, for those customers who have not paid their water and sewer bill by Friday, July 10.
Board of equalization to meet July 13-17
The board of equalization will be available between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 17 to discuss property values in Morgan County.

Despite heat, Relay for Life raises $29,000
The goal set by Morgan County Relay for Life officials was $30,000, and the result came up just short of that for the American Cancer Society’s annual fund-raising event at approximately $29,000.

The Morgan County Health Center’s Laurie satellite clinic has been discontinued due to lack of participation.
Fireworks launch from City Park July 4
The annual City of Versailles fireworks display will be launched this year from the baseball diamond at Versailles City Park, said assistant fire chief Duane Miller Monday, June 22.
Post Office closes early July 3, is closed July 4
The Versailles Post Office will close at noon, Friday, July 3 to allow retail employees to spend time with family and friends for the Independence Day holiday.
Election deadline July 8
The last day to register to vote in Morgan County for the Tuesday, Aug. 4 special election is Wednesday, July 8.
