Twenty-nine Morgan County R-I students and Stover residents spent 12 days traveling throughout Italy on an Educational Foundation tour May 30-June 10. Students traveling included: Amber Marriott, Morgan Marriott, Mancil Marriott, Allison Ehlers, Connar and Lawson Hibdon, Nick Carter, Jordan Folsom, Jordan Foreman, Paige Englebrecht, Jessie Vansell, Karen Starke, Miquela Chandler, Jessica Keehn, Ashley Knight. Adults were: Jared, Teather and Karen Bellis, Jackie and Chris Witte, Joyce and Alicia Marriott, Tina Chandler, Ashley Starke, Janice Gerken, Verona Goetz, Shallie Witt and Jackie Witte.

R-I board approves bond prepayment
Morgan County R-I Board of Education approved a prepayment of $75,000 on the amount owed by the district on bonds at their meeting Monday, June 29.

Public hearings set for bond issue
Two bond issue public hearing dates were set at the regular meeting of Stover City Council Thursday, June 25. The hearings are to inform residents of the upcoming sewer system bond issue that will be on the Aug. 4 election ballot.
Chamber makes plans for car cruise, burnout
Stover Chamber of Commerce members discussed plans for their Third Annual Car Cruise, Burnout and Dance to begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 25 on Second Street in downtown Stover.
Summer reading club underway
Get Creative at the Summer Reading Club is well underway, but that doesn’t mean that children can’t attend if they haven’t. Children of all ages may attend and it doesn’t matter which school they attend.

GALC board approves kitchen warning system
Golden Age Living Center Board of Directors approved installation of a warning system on the home’s cooler and freezer to prevent potential problems at their meeting Tuesday, June 23.
